🛡️ The General Skills of Mystavaria
Before the glory, there's groundwork.
General skills are additional abilities that all Mystavarians get, regardless of the Profession they choose. These skills include things like basic combat, defense, abilities to ride and care for animals, utility skills to make life easier and a unique skill called Dreamlore that opens up a whole new world of possibility via interaction with Mystavaria’s Dream Realm.
Animals
Mystavarians have long been deeply connected with and fascinated by the diversity of fauna found across the world. The Animals skill teaches the art of taming, training and even breeding of animals of all types, allowing you to form loyal bonds with any creature in the world from common street cats to the prized unicorn.
Assessment
Assessment is a skill of utility which helps you learn how to quickly identify the many objects you will encounter across Mystavaria. As your skill improves, you will be able to discern detailed information about various items. Assessment also teaches numerous organizational abilities, in turn allowing you to easily and quickly review categorized lists of items in your inventory.
Attack
The attack skill can be thought of generally as your prowess and strength in battle. As your skill in attack grows, the amount of damage you are capable of dealing in a single attack also increases. Additionally, basic unarmed and armed combat, such as swordplay, is learned through this skill.
Awareness
Awareness is your ability to perceive things and presences around you, which can happen either very quickly or be concealed from regular vision. As your awareness grows, you will become more in tune with your surroundings, learning how to discover hidden objects and people, sense when you’re being tracked and also discerning the whereabouts of others.
Defense
Defense is a rather self-explanatory skill. As you learn and develop defensive techniques, your defensive rating will improve. You will learn how to parry, evade and defend against certain incoming attacks.
Dreamlore
Mystavaria is a physical world, brought to reality by Aion by way of manifesting the dreams of Alora. As such, the inhabitants of Mystavaria are innately attuned with some magics from the dream realm. Dreamlore unlocks knowledge of how to daydream and lucid dream, allowing you to use dream magic in a waking state as well as explore the realms of deities and other unknown territory that presents itself in the dream realm.
Fortitude
Fortitude is best explained as being your mental strength of mind. The abilities you gain through it will be focused on conserving and extending your mana usage and learning defenses to protect your mind. As your skill grows, your innate defense against magic will grow, as well.
Survival
Survival is one of the primary skills that every Mystavarian is born with. It focuses on honing in on your ability to handle various outdoor situations or physical pursuits. Swimming and navigating the waters of the land, fashioning makeshift bandages, building fires and hacking away obstacles are amongst the abilities learned in Survival.
