📅 Mystavaria Announces Open Alpha Date: August 7, 2025

We told Reddit we'd be open in 2022. Oops.

After five years of building, dreaming, breaking, fixing, and re-dreaming again, Mystavaria will enter Open Alpha on August 7, 2025 — exactly five years to the day since our project was born.

We are beyond excited (and also, beyond a little nervous) to finally share Mystavaria with the world — or at least, those willing to enter it in its current state!

🛠️ What is Open Alpha?

Open Alpha means Mystavaria is live and playable, but still actively under development. There will be bugs, hiccups, unfinished features, and content still being constructed. You may run into things that are strange, inconsistent, or just plain broken. This is all part of the process — and we appreciate your patience and feedback as we polish and refine the world together.

We've done our best to squash the most major bugs, polish the roughest edges, and ensure a semi-stable, engaging experience. But we know we're not done, and your feedback is essential to improving and expanding the world.

🐞 How to Report Bugs and Suggestions

We've built tools right into the game for feedback:

  • Use BUG to report anything broken or behaving oddly.
  • Use TYPO for spelling, grammar, or formatting errors.
  • Use SUGGEST <idea> to share your thoughts and feature requests.
  • Join our Discord and submit a bug ticket.

🎉 A Long Time Coming

Back in *checks notes* 2022, we confidently told Reddit that Mystavaria would launch "soon™". We were, how do we put this... spectacularly wrong.

Turns out, building a fully original text-based fantasy game with its own magic systems, economy, social dynamics, RP tools, world maps, dynamic crafting, dream logic, and season-shifting weather — is hard.

Needless to say, we ate our words, hid in the shadows for a while, and kept on dreaming. We threw out whole systems. We rebuilt. We made 46 different versions of tree descriptions, and learned what "scope creep" really means. Now, on our five-year anniversary, we're ready to open the gates and celebrate — not to perfection, but to possibility.

Thank you to everyone who's stuck with us over the years, supported the project, and waited patiently while we got our act together. Your belief in this world has meant everything.
