There are a number of shops around the world, usually found in villages,
cities, and other settlements. When in a shop, you can browse the items
for sale using the GOODS or WARES. This will display a list of
items available to purchase, the quantity in stock, the unique item ID,
and the price.
To inspect an item in further detail, use GOODS <item> or GOODS <item id>.
It is best to get into the habit of referencing items by ID when shopping,
as it will ensure you inspect or purchase the correct item.
Shop owners can also use GOODS from inside their stockroom to see
exactly what their storefront is showing to customers.
Caravans
Travelling merchants sell from caravans. Where one caravan is parked,
GOODS shows its wares. Where several are parked, GOODS lists
each caravan with the IDs of its wares; use GOODS <caravan> to see
one caravan's goods, GOODS <caravan> <item> to inspect one of its
items, or GOODS ALL to see the goods of every caravan at once.
GOODS <item> inspects that item in whichever caravans sell it. You
may also ENTER a caravan and browse from inside. In a shop, GOODS
shows the shop's own wares; name a caravan to browse it instead.
A shop closed for business can still be browsed through its windows,
but a closed caravan keeps its wares hidden away.
