Game Help: Communicating
Mystavaria is a living world shaped as much by your words as by your actions. Effective communication will help you connect with others, progress in quests, and fully immerse yourself in your character. Speaking Aloud Use the SAY command to speak to those in your current room: SAY <message> or "<message> (shortcut for SAY) You can direct your words to someone specific using SAYTO: SAYTO <player> <message> For broader communication, you can use: SHOUT <message> to broadcast to a wider area, or WHISPER <player> <message> to speak quietly to someone nearby Private Communication Private TELLS allow you to speak directly to other players, no matter where they are in the world: TELL <player> <message> - Send a private message to the player REPLY <message> - Respond to the last person who sent you a tell Offline Communication If you need to send a message to a player who is not online, you can use the MESSAGE system: MESSAGE <player> <text> - Send a private message MESSAGES - Read your last five messages MESSAGES <#> - View a longer message history MESSAGES LAST - Read your most recent message Messages can be in character or out of character and are not subject to the same RP expectations as SAY or TELL. Greeting NPCs The GREET and ASK commands are especially important for interacting with NPCs: GREET <NPC> - Begin a conversation or trigger responses from the NPC. ASK <NPC> <keyword> - Ask an NPC what they know about a certain topic. Learn more about greeting and asking in HELP GREET and HELP ASK. Emotes and Interaction Emotes allow you to express actions, moods, and subtle behaviours. EMOTE LIST - Shows all available built in emotes EMOTE <text> - Describe an action beginning with your name EMS <text> - Possessive form of EMOTE Refer to HELP EMOTES for further information on using custom and targetted emotes. Roleplay Roleplay is at the heart of Mystavaria and many systems are designed to support immersive storytelling. See HELP RP for full guidance on roleplay expectations, etiquette, and tips.
