Game Help: Lots

    It is possible to own and build property in many places in Mystavaria.
    For new construction, this usually first starts with the purchase of a
    vacant lot. Lots are available across the world, though usually more
    densely in and around larger settlements. Any lot for sale will be
    marked with a wooden sign, and you may use LOTS FOR SALE or LFS
    to see a list of any lots for sale in your current territory, with their
    whereabouts and price noted. To see any lots you have already purchased,
    simply use LOTS OWNED. Do note that the previous owner of a lot may
    restrict who they are willing to sell to.

    Purchasing Lots
    Lots can be purchased either for personal use, or on behalf of an
    organisation you are a member of, such as your clan or guild. When you
    have located a lot you wish to purchase, use the syntax PURCHASE LOT
    <lot direction> FOR <self/clan/guild>.

    When purchasing a lot for yourself, you become the sole owner and the
    only individual with privileges to construct on that lot. Purchasing a
    lot for your clan or guild allows any members of high enough rank within
    the organisation to construct new buildings on the lot. Be aware, if you
    do not have privileges in your clan or guild to construct, then you will
    not be able to build anything on the lot yourself. Bear this in mind
    before purchasing property for your clan or guild.

    Transferring Lot Ownership
    If you ever wish to transfer ownership of one of your lots to another
    person, you can use the syntax LOT TRANSFER <lot direction> <player>.
    The new owner does not need to be in your presence for ownership
    to be transferred. Do note, this will be subject to certain
    restrictions if the lot is within the boundaries of an established
    settlement - it will not be possible to transfer a lot to someone who
    has been declared an enemy of the settlement, and some settlements may
    not even allow transfers to non-citizens at all. A lot cannot be
    transferred while property tax is owed on it. A lot owned by a clan or
    guild can never be transferred, though its leadership may still list it
    for sale.

    Selling Lots
    Should ever a time come when you wish to sell a lot you own, you may
    use the LOT SELL <lot direction> <price> command. You must issue this 
    command from a location adjacent to your lot.

    If at any point you wish to change the price of a lot you have for sale, you can use the LOT PRICE <lot direction> <new price> command.

    If your lot lies within a settlement, you may set who it can be sold to
    using LOT SELLTO <lot direction> <citizens/residents/none> - lots
    within a settlement can only ever be sold to fellow citizens or
    residents of that settlement (never to outsiders), though the
    settlement's leadership or Patron may occasionally open a lot up
    further at their own discretion. Lots outside any settlement have no
    such restriction, and may be sold to anyone.

    If you no longer wish to sell your lot, simply issue the command
    LOT UNLIST <lot direction> to remove it from being listed for sale.
    Should you wish to relist it, you may use LOT SELL again.

    Lot IDs
    Every lot has an ID such as LOT4821N, shown in LOTS OWNED and in an
    Estate Agent's GOODS. At an Estate Agent in the lot's own territory
    you can buy a listed lot by its ID with BUY <lot ID> FOR
    SELF/CLAN/GUILD, the same way houses are bought by alias.

    Lot Property Tax
    Settlements may tax unbuilt lots owned by individuals, assessed once a
    year on the higher of the lot's clearing cost and the price it was last
    bought for. Like a building's tax, each lot's debt is tracked on its
    own and, if left unpaid long enough, the lot may be seized by the
    settlement. Use LOT TAX beside your lots to see what is owed and
    LOT TAX PAY <lot direction> <amount/ALL> to pay it from the coins you
    carry, or settle it at the bank with BANK SETTLE TAX. A lot cannot be
    transferred or built on while tax is owed on it, and a lot's sale price
    must cover its unpaid tax (which is paid out of the sale). Lots owned by

    Buildings & Construction
    Once you have purchased a lot, you will likely want to build some sort
    of structure on it. It is advised to read HELP BUILDINGS and HELP
    CONSTRUCTION when you are ready for this part of the process.
