This help file contains information on two separate uses of SEARCH.
The first refers to the in-world SEARCH command used for exploration,
investigation, and uncovering hidden details within locations and objects.
The second refers to HELP SEARCH, which is used to search through help
documentation itself to find relevant entries by keyword.
SEARCH
The SEARCH command allows you to thoroughly examine your surroundings or
a specific object to attempt to uncover otherwise hidden objects, exits, or
even players which may be present (but concealed) in your location or within
another object.
SEARCH is most commonly used for exploration, adventuring, and quests to
reveal hidden details, secret mechanisms, or otherwise obscured entities.
When used without a target, SEARCH focusees on your immediate surroundings,
attempting to detect hidden presences, objects, or subtle environmental features
that may not be apparent through a simple look.
When used with a specific target (e.g. SEARCH CHEST), the command will
instead focus your attention on that object, potentially revealing hidden
compartments or concealed contents not visible via standard examination.
Syntax:SEARCH (<object>)HELP SEARCH
The HELP SEARCH command is distinct from the SEARCH command used
for exploration.
It allows you to search through all available HELP entries using a
keyword. Any help entries containing the specified keyword will be listed
for your perusal, allowing you to quickly locate relevant guidance or
information about a specific topic.
This can be especially useful when you are uncertain which help file contains
the information you need.
For additional information about using the HELP command, see HELP HELP.
